The Preternatural world refers to extraordinary aspects beyond the mundane world, supported by the existence of supernatural beings and powers such as angels, demons, ghosts etc. The effects of these otherworldly powers connote preternatural occurrences and beliefs that shape many societal norms across countries. 

A world exists where the divine is viewed as a "Hands-Off Creator" who designed the universe but does not intervene in human attairs, pertorm miracles, answer prayers, or issue any moral rules. In this world, organized religion still exists, focusing entirely on community, ritual, and personal spiritual reflection without claims of divine authority. Whether an afterlife exists is unknown and beyond human discovery.

In the near future, a technology exists that allows a person's mind (including all memories, emotions, and personality traits) to be perfectly uploaded into a digital medium after their death. This mind remains conscious and self-aware

"Coming Out" is used to describe the process through which LGBTQ+ people come to terms with their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, and share that identity publicly with others. "Letting In" is, in contrast, used to describe inviting others into one's own life and choosing how to self-disclose, to whom and when.

A digital public utility model means that these platforms are structured in such a way that leadership positions, algorithms, and content moderation policies are determined through democratic processes such as referenda, user assemblies, or elected boards

 In the NBA, players do not have direct consent to their transfer in most cases, as trades can happen without their agreement unless they have a no-trade clause in their contract. This is unlike most other sports where players have to agree personal terms in order for a transfer to be completed. Also, the player's contract follows them - they continue earning the exact same salary, with the same terms, regardless of being traded. Their wages don't change.

 "Quiet quitting" refers to the practice of employees performing only the basic duties required by their job descriptions. They don't take on additional tasks, work overtime, assist co-workers beyond their assigned duties, or show any extra enthusiasm at work. Quiet quitting doesn't involve resigning from one's job but rather maintaining very strict boundaries between work and personal life.
